Unusual cheek piece can anyone place a builder on this one ?

Albert looks like a Huntington county rifle to me - might be wrong but it’s my guess - maybe a Dunmeyer?

I think that you nailed it Buck: Huntingdon County. The odd trigger (might be single set) and the chamfered edge of the butt plate finial at the comb is almost a Huntingdon signature. If it is unsigned, it will take awhile to pin down a maker. It's a nice rifle and could use some extra care, it appears. Our good friend Dr. Jim Whisker lists a Casper Ealy Davis as a gunmaker in the region. He was born in 1848 and died in 1928. He could have been your guy. Nice rifle and I would like to thank you for showing on the ALR Forum.

Speaking of the trigger , it was originally a set trigger , but somewhere in its time the triggers were damaged or something  , because the trigger that is there is crudely made , and  it's not made to be used as a set trigger , the plate is originally made for double triggers

A friend bought it , he brought it to me to strengthen the broken wood where it was cracked and possibly going to come apart , put missing pins in to hold barrel. IMHO , he paid more tha  it was worth . It wasn't in very good+ condition as to what I  read in the description  that was posted on the website , but if it is a rare piece that might command the price.  One other thing I  put a bore light fown the bbl. and couldn't see any evidence of riffing.

Could you post a bottom shot of the trigger guard? I have what I think is a Detweiler that has been fitted with a steel guard screwed on.  Just trying to figure out what style I need, maybe a Huntingdon ? Thanks, Roland
