Peter Berry references
« on: August 25, 2009, 12:50:24 AM »
Earlier I asked about the practical limits on building a relatively small bore light rifle but still within a pc school.  Couple of recommendations were to consider Peter Berry rifles.  Looked through RCA and other references and didn't find any Peter Berry rifles there.  Where do I find good references which will show me Berry's rifles and style?

Kindig's Thoughts on the Kentucky Rifle in it's Golden Age is the best source.  There may be Berry rifles in Kentucky Rifles and Pistols 1750-1850 also.

There's a nice little Berry in "The Kentucky Rifle a True American Heritage in Picture"

There's also one in Merrill Lindsay's "The Kentucky Rifle"  There are views of both sides of the butt...great detail of the patchbox and lower butt moulding.

There's also one in "Accouterments II"
