Another new bench
« on: September 22, 2020, 01:03:34 AM »
This is one I built for a space in the garage.  The new condo in South Carolina does not have a basement.  I used 2 by *s and 2 by 10s for the top and 2 by 4s for the legs.  Top and legs are laminated together.

This is the anvil stand

I built the bench upside down on sawhorses

The legs are pretty rugged and glued nicely into the notches

kind regards, heinz

I built a two screw face vice for the bench.  I made the screws.  I like the face vice to rack a bit because it accommodates the tapered shape of longrifles

kind regards, heinz

Heniz Sir, Great looking shop bench, no outstanding. Is that a Peter Wright anvil ? I had 2 Peter Wrights, both 168 Lbs. The shop anvil was mounted on a electric utility pole cutoff 3 feet in the shop floor. Bricked around the stub. My second anvil was mounted on a 2/10 custom box stand. I used this for demonstrations of all kinds. I built the box at the proper height, inserted bottom and painted with tar. insert plastic bag, filled with with damp sand. Inserted top. attached second anvil down. Made 2 half round, moon handles. To handle when needed to move. Without anvil. Hope you have as much fun as I had on your anvil. Have a great week. AJ

It is not a Peter Wright.  It is a 75 pounder, very handy. I will check the name again tomorrow,
I am in Greenville SC
