Here's what's been going on in my shop just about for ever. 46" Colerain 14 bore barrel with full jug and an 1 1/4" breech. All 1st model brown Bess mounts with a french trade gun lock and trigger guard. Big gun with that big barrel and buttplate. 9.5 lbs

That's a neat gun.  I read some about them in the flintlock fowlers book.  The cast off looks awesome.

Full choke 14 bore should be a turkey clubber for sure, Mike. 1 1/4" breech - how long is the bl. & diameter at the muzzle, please?

I think so, I have to talk to the owner and see where we're going with it. I'd like to do one of my "War series" guns with it.

46" barrel. Pretty thin at the muzzle, probably a little more than 1/16" or so muzzle walls.

Good luck trying to get some color on that tumbler screw. If your are successful, please gives us your secret. Those Tulle lock tumbler screws don’t color well.

Chow chow? My wife is canning Kokanee (land-locked salmon) today. I'm on the computer, so --- I'm busy. ;)

I sure do miss that Daryl.  I canned pinks and jalapeño peppers all four years I was stationed in Alaska.   That place ruined me forever on buying fresh fish elsewhere.  For salmon steaks, the reds and kings had a flavor that you can’t find at any restaurant or counter.  For those who don’t like salmon,  they haven’t had good salmon.
