Good trick for build layout

So, here's something I discovered that's really useful.
Tracing paper I got from the dollar store. I think it was $2 for like 30 sheets. You can use it over fullsize plans like TOW sells to trace stock patterns, parts etc, then cut it out and test fit everything. It's very handy with the actual full size pics of locks/furniture in the old TOW catalogues. You can "try out" a bunch of locks and parts before you buy the perfect one. Here's the pistol I'm working on plans for now.

Thanks, Justin. I've been looking for tracing paper at Wally World - didn't know about Dollar Stores! Great idea.

I use tracing paper to make a full size pattern for a stock cutout. I am not as precise as the guys who's patterns are works of art and carefully thought out. I am just a wood hack.
Pattern making;
Finished gun, not perfect but it works for me with my minimal skills.

Art is not an object. It is the excitement inspired by the object.

Nice looking gun, Eric - I see a rear sight, smooth rifle, or rifled?
