Double gun build

Hello all.. Any of you ever build a flint or perc double using  old/modern steel barrels? Just curious as I have a set of nice ones and dont know what to do with em. Best regards, Dave F 8) 8)

Dave,

Yes! I followed the instructions in "Recreating the Double Barrel Muzzleloading Shotgun" by Brockway. I had flint breech plugs made up for the projects by a local Machine shop to the specs I provided. A lot of hand crafted hours went into completing the gun projects.

I built several. I wouldn't bother to build one unless the barrels were damascus.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?
