Nock lock sale
« on: December 03, 2020, 04:57:39 AM »
For those of you not on Buck Ridge Flintlocks mailing list, I thought I would pass this on.  I just received an email  from them saying that their Nock lock is on sale now through Jan 4, 2021.

"Enter the code: Holiday20 at checkout to receive $25 off our Henry Nock lock(Standard or Round tail).
Deal is good through Jan. 4th 2021."

https://www.buckridgeflintlocks.com/

That's a heckuva deal on a really good lock.

Is this lock related to the L & R Durs Egg?
Bridle looks similar.
I have not seen an original Nock with a bridle like that, but that is not to say this isn't a good lock.

It it purported to resemble a Henry Nock?

According to their website, it was patterned after an original Henry Nock.

Richard, there may well be a relationship to the L&R Durs Egg lock. The  Rice family sold L&R Lock Company to Bill Cox and Wade Reynolds many years ago.

It looks like the mainspring shape has been changed.  Look at the discussion Rich mentioned and look at the website.  It is higher on the plate and is straighter with a tighter bend on the website.  The first discussion is 1.5 yrs. old.

The comments about the mainspring shape got me to thinking, so I got my lock out and checked it out. I got this lock in October, so it's the latest.
