Where to Buy CO2 Ball Discharger
« on: October 22, 2020, 09:41:01 PM »
I was looking for a CO2 dry ball discharger but couldn't find one on TOTW. Where can I get one? Also looking for a Bore Scope? Just like to have those items around when I need them. Thanks tippit

The Gun Works in Springfield, Oregon. Good people, honest and largest inventory of muzzleloading stuff west of the Mississippi.

Wow there are a lot of Teslong bore scopes.  Which are the most useful for the price?

Bore scopes are needed VERY LITTLE in this sport, as well as a builder.   Will spend most of its life in the toy box.

I just drop a small diameter flashlight down the bore and give it a look-see.
I guess a bore scope might be handy if you bought "used" rifles, especially muzzle loaders.

You can get a CO2 discharger at a bicycle shop for about half what you pay for one at a ML supplier. Get some ball inflator needles with it, and use a dremel to cut the tips back about 1/8".

Ric Carter got it right. I just bought a CO2 tire inflator in the bike section at Wal Mart for $9. A set of three tips including 2 plastic cones of different sizes and a "pin" for inflating balls was another $1. I used a red plastic tip and just emptied my flintlock after a hunting trip where it wasn't fired. Pressed the red tip hard against the touch-hole and let the CO2 rip. The load came out and flew about 8 feet without noise or issue. $10 of fun and worth every penny for the convenience.

The good folks at the Log Cabin Shop in Lodi, Ohio have them listed in the print catalog.
