Well boys, I Finally got a go at this.

I never shoot off-hand as I mainly use my guns for hunting, and always take a lean on anything handy.
I used to be OK at offhand when I was a teenager with a weighrough (spelling) air -rifle. but as I'm 66 that was a while ago now.
Hadn't shot this rifle really for more than ten years, and my eyes have changed a lot!
I had to put all the front sight sitting on top of the back sight to get elevation close, And I was shooting to the right....
Will have to try it from a lean to see if it's my eyes or me pulling off when attempting off-hand.

Rifle Jim Chambers Mark Silver kit, in .58. Don Getz barrel. 70 grs 2 F and same powder for prime. .562" ball and deer tallow lubed patch.
Patches are Ancient and tallow had turned into hard stuff like furniture polish, but with some spit, slid down well enough.

Don't laugh at me target. Well, you Can, 'cos I did!!

That target shows a lot of promise Richard. If those shots off to the right were moved over, you'd have a really decent score . Please don't wait another 10 years before you shoot that rifle again !!

I agree...sometimes rifles that you haven't shot for some time get pouty and demonstrate some pay-back for the neglect. Take her out again soon and give her another chance.
BTW: what does your rifle weigh in .58 cal? Mine in .50 weighs 10+ pounds...

Managed to shoot another target today before the light went. Cold with frost in the air, but the rifle seemed to load easier than the other day. Anyway, I had one shot touching the circle, but not a score per the half ball rule. I'm happy with the rest of them

It was -5 today, likely why Taylor didn't call.

Not supposed to warm up until the new year, now. Oh- suppose to be 0 on Thursday.

I'm going to do my best to get one more target submitted. I sure hope others are able to do so.
I'd love to see this last match of the year end with a 5 or 6 way tie

I was hoping to shoot a few but never got the time this month. Just as well, you fellas are ON this month. That or you just really, really hate snowmen.

Hay to load out today Daryl, will see how my time goes, but my old patches are getting tender, being soaked in tallow 20 years! Need to make new ones. Balls as well. not many cast ....

Overcast, but only about minus 7 here today. I managed to get a 3rd target shot. Nice groups but placement was off

The middle circle has 3 shots, but two were almost on top off each other

Easier to see the holes from the back .

Well, gents we have a winner. My kiddo picked Bob in the Woods' score 37 snowman. I think the broomstick put it over the top for him. One of his favourite book is about a good witch. Contrats Bob. That's a great picture, Justin. Thanks for putting on a good, challenging shoot. Nothing but a perfect score would have won
it over a 37 score. Taylor and I attempted that yesterday, but neither of us shot well, ruining the score after as few as 4 shots.
We also discussed what would make a good January Target and that was something with a BIG 10 ring, 5-shots with an X to
distinguish ties. Just a thought.
