Snowy day at the range
« on: January 02, 2021, 02:29:44 AM »
Got out in the backyard today with the new rifle. Was able to get few shots in before snow got too heavy.  Shooting decent so far. This group was at 50 yds. Load was 65gr 3F .490 ball with .015 pillow ticking patch. TOW mink oil lube.

A thicker patch or 495 ball might tighten up the group even more. Must of been tough looking through those big flakes. :)

That's the game plan. Have some .495 balls ready. Gonna get back out tomorrow after the snow!

Nothing beats the feel of a handmade southern iron mounted flintlock on a cold frosty morning
