Well I had a list of things that I wanted to try out.Inletting an oct.-round barrel,internally coned touch hole,temper blued barrel and recutting cast in engraving among others.Couple that with a really cool Getz pistol barrel rolling around in a drawer,and always wanting to try building a pistol,so this is the result.Some things worked out some did not but I had a lot of fun with this!!

This is my interpertation of a Reading area pistol with heavy John Schreit influence.It has a Getz barrel,Ditchburn pistol lock,York County Firelock buttcap and trigger guard.I made the rest.Finish is Aqua-fortis with E.K.'s boiled oil finish.As always all opinions are welcome.

I don't know from any thing about  pistols, but I sure do like the muzzle treatment.  The rest of it looks really good also.

Impressive pistol. I like the crisp lock panels. Mine allways seem to end up rounded at the edges. Could you post a picture showing the buttcap tang? I'm trying to decided if I want the tang pointed or rounded on the pistol I'm making.

Mitch, your pistol looks great. You have obviously have been busy since Dixion's show. The inletting looks good no gaps. John was keeping me posted on your progress. Any idea what you will build next?

I had a lot of fun with this pistol.Plan on doing another after finishing up a couple of rifles.What it will be I'm not sure but I've got a couple of ideas.Some of it depends on what kind of pistol barrel I can talk John out of ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thank you for the pictures of the butt cap. I liked the shape of the tang.
I 'll try a pointed tang on the pistols I'm building.
