Just An Old Horn
« on: June 02, 2021, 09:48:36 PM »
I don’t know much about this small horn other than it once belonged to my Great Grandparents on my mother’s side. They were born in the 1860’s and were from the S.E. Illinois area. I remember it being displayed in my Grandparents hutch and it then passed on to my Mother who recently passed it on to me. It looks like it’s had a hard life but would probably still be useable.

The horn looks like it was originally made in New England. The flat, soft wood plug is almost always a New England detail, as is the serrated edge on the strap retaining ring and faceted spout tip. Shelby Gallien
