Hooked breech plug castings
« on: April 01, 2021, 06:25:49 PM »
I am looking to do a Manton style pistol.  I have not decided flint for percussion.  I do think a later period half stock one.  For percussion,  Track used to have breech plug castings with drip edges.  Does anyone have them for sale anymore?

Any one scratch one out?  Any documentation how it was done.  I hate to re-invent he wheel.

I have made several hooked breech's for flintlocks by fitting a standard plug then shaping the bolster into the hook and making the standing breech from angle iron. On a percussion I guess you would have to use one of those screw in drum & nipple things. Not sure how compatible that would be with a Manton.
