Simple horn

Well had a decent day today made a horn cup. The bottom is chimed in was a little worried seeing how I have not made one in a long time. I sat for over 30 minutes and no leaks. Also made a simple horn. The length is 13 inches outside curve. The base plug is maple and hollowed out and has a diameter of 2 inches.  The tip is turned from horn and is applied.

Tim yes a thinned it done a good bit, this horn was a thick one to start.  But I knew just by the coloring it was going to be semi transparent.

Nice work. After collecting a few originals I’ve noticed how light and thin most are. I feel it’s a mistake to make a horn any thicker than needed for the design and durability.

I agree after getting to hold some originals I realized how light they were. Then afterwards I started making mine as light a I can without going to thin.  Plus with thinning down the horn I can get good clean lines.
