here's my flash hole location, please don't mock the rifle is not finished and in the raw. not to happy with this one , enlarged the pan a little but not quite done. the picture a little fuzzy, sorry

This to me is an ideal position and should go off very quick.That type of lock
is an all friction design and can be helped by polishing the ramp on the tumbler
and the contact area of the mainspring.Also the inside of the plate and both sides
of the tumbler.

rt-lft-hi-low no problem, within reason. BUT, if you can look into the hole with the frizzen closed it is TOO high!

It is my opinion that the white fouling that we get along the vent side of the barrel forward of the lock is because of the fence on the lock plate reflecting the flash forward.  We always get some on the stock behind the pan too, but most of it is forward along the vent side of the barrel.
