Nice Small horn

Stopped at a small antique shop today and could not resist bringing home this neat little horn: Horn is 6in in length along the outside curve: here are a few pictures: sk

most likely: the horn came from a house hold around Easton ct: the owner of the shop told me that a woman brought it in and said it was her grandfathers: i did ask if there was gun to go along with it but sadly no: sk

Nice looking small bag horn with good color and surface, not fancy but functional. The diameter of the hole in the spout looks rather large on this small horn. Perhaps it held smaller balls or caps in the percussion era, as some small bag horns with large openings were designed for.  Shelby Gallien

i was thinking along the same lines: even though the end looks like it has a piece missing the rest of the spout looks like it was made this way and not enlarged: nice honest wear: sk
