Just finished my Colonial 58. It is my first build and first attempt at carving. Really enjoyed the process.

Metal was draw filed, then stoned with 800 grit oil stones. Two coats of blue and rubbed back with a grey abrasive pad.

Wood was sanded to 400 grit, 2 coats Permalyn sealer, 5 coats of Tru Oil, cut back every coat. Rubbed with rottenstone after cured.

Not up to the quality of most work posted here but really learned a lot. I see where I need to improve.

LIBERTY is for my ancestor Moses who fought with the 26th Continental Infantry.

Have a 62 cal Jaeger barrel I bought from a member of the forum. Also have a couple pieces of black walnut my father cut/milled/dried 20+ years ago. I am thinking a Jaeger........
