Pecatonica Tennessee Classic finished: Pics and 1st shot
« on: October 15, 2021, 04:52:37 AM »
I have completed the Pecatonica Tennessee Classic Flintlock LR. It sports some pretty Curly Maple, an A weight swamped .50 Colerain barrel and a Late Ketland lock. It balances and comes up to sight extremely well, and wow it is fast! I put about 60+ hours work into this, and think it was time well spent. It will be going up to Pennsylvania in a few days.
This is a link to a YouTube video of the first shot:

Very nice and impressive build.  Beautiful wood and finish.  Lock is fast tuned and appears smooth.  My compliments 👍😁

Thank you gentlemen. There were times when I was happy no one was around to hear me  :-X, but all-in-all this was a pretty enjoyable build. The lock is very fast, and when the main spring issue is corrected it will be even better.

VERY nice, Bob.  And always great fun when firing that first shot. Pretty quick lock!

Beautiful job! Care to share your finish/ staining  process? I really like the color you achieved, I understand that all individual woods don't react all the same, but that is the reddish-brown I would like to end up with on my current build.

Nice work, congrats!  I'm also throwing in my compliments on the color and finish with the other posts. Those red highlights are striking.
