We had a White River Brigade meeting last month after our August shoot and we decided we we're going to mix things up a bit more with our 2009
monthly shoot schedule.
We kind of got stagnent with paper the last couple years so next year over
half our shoots will be at gongs, along with a few of those shoots also having the knife & hawk throw added in, as well as some traditional archery. It's going to look kind'a like this;
10 Rifle Shots - (2 kneeling, 2 prone, 2 setting, 4 offhand)
5 Pistol Shots - (2 - Two hand hold, 3 - One hand hold)
5 Hawk Throws
5 Knife Throws
5 Arrow Shots
For those that don't have a longbow and wood arrows we'll supply something usable (not of high grade - but linen backed and quite usable until the person in need can get their own gear rounded up for future events of this kind). Most members already have their rifle, hawk, pistol, and throwing knife, though there are a few who don't, so we'll have some loaners on hand.
The plan is to give this event a couple tries each year. The members seem
enthused about it so I guess that is a good sign.
Are there any other clubs out there combining these usages of rifle, pistol, hawk, knife, and bow as a combined aggregate?
