New Build
« on: October 19, 2021, 11:13:32 AM »
Greetings All,
Just finished a southern poor-boy style rifle. This shooting iron has been made up out of leftovers from my shop. Tube is a Belgiun made Dixie gunworks 45 cal 40 inch model unsure? Lock assumed to be Pedersoli frontier model? Lumber is plain maple and rest of the hardware is homemade. This gun is made for go not show so will be out on the range/woods getting dirty. Please enjoy the photos, feedback mighty welcome.

Take care,
Steven.

The lock looks like it’s from a Hatfield rifle.

Looks like a SMR to me.  Enjoy it

Trigger guard looks a little tall at the front bend. But that is just to my eye.
kind regards, heinz

Nice rifle! Un carved, not inlaid rifles allows for a sharp focus on architecture and I think you hit it in the ten ring.

For a misc. parts build you sure created a jewel.  I like the way it looks; a lean, mean hunting machine!
