Bucks County LRs

Every once in awhile  some builder would like some pics of Bucks County LRs so here's a few. The only deviation I've made from the originals  on my BCs is that the carving is in relief instead of incised. Otherwise these BCs have all the features of BC LRs including the elongated finial on the entry pipe. Also, these BCs have the  slightly curved comblines....which I find attractive. The famous Verner BC has a straight combline which might be an early BC  The pics are shown randomly......and if more details are wanted, let ,me  know.

Not meant as an attack, but I always wondered why didn't you follow original carving style on all those guns you made? You certainly have the talent to do it and all the rest of the gun is correct..... ???

  I think the reason someone doesn't copy a style exactly. Maybe they just want to add their own tastes. I believe so many of the guns we attribute to certain gun makers is wrong. I believe back in the day like now. Their were people who knew and had means to do their own work. But liked and copied other peoples work. JMHO

Mike Brooks.....excellent question.  The remining originals have incised carving which on many has "washed  out"  so I used  relief carving  on mine. No longer am able to build {macular degeneration} and do regret not having  used incised carving on a few BCs. I did make other styles  and shown below is an early blank built John Brooks  Lancaster.....Fred
