Going off quick
« on: November 24, 2021, 04:17:59 PM »
Here is a short video of my customer firing the first shot out of the little Lady's Lancaster. The lock is one of Larry Zorn's and it has a very strong main spring which is not that conducive to a light trigger pull but man does it throw sparks. You couldn't ask for a better first shot out of a new rifle.

Few things nicer than a fast shooting flint. Great lock time.

Hello Jim, hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
I followed the thread on the Little Lady's Lancaster, closely and you did a wonderful job on the carvings.
I do have a question, you stated on that thread that you used a Chambers Dale Johnson Lock. Now you say you have a Larry Zornes lock on this rifle.
Am I missing something?

Thanks for the comments. Alacran, I thought that I had used the dale Johnson lock when I started but I have several locks laying around the shop for various projects and I picked up the Zorn lock which is very similar in size to the Johnson lock. Anyway I didn't realize until later that I had indeed used the Zorn lock. The Zorn lock has a very heavy main spring and sear spring which make for a fairly heavy unset trigger pull, not unmanageable but a little heavier than I like. As seen in the video the lock is fast and throws good sparks which makes for a fast shooting rifle.

Thanks for clarifying the lock question. I like Larry Zornes lock very much and indeed they are fast.
