« on: January 10, 2022, 03:32:13 AM »
I have this original Rook rifle I would like to reproduce. Does anyone know the process of copying original parts? Thanks in advance. moodyholler

Disassemble rifle as much as can be done without damage. Proceed to making scaled drawings of parts with dimensions.

You can make molds from silicone and pour casting wax into the molds to get patterns. Rubber mold kits can be found online but I have made dozens of molds from cheap(the cheapest) hardware store silicone mixed with iodine. This mixture "cures" all the way through in about 20 minutes and picks up all of the detail. Once you have a set of patterns you will need to find a foundry. I would look for advice from some of the folks who sell lock set castings and mail the patterns out. ask for at least two of everything. The internal lock parts can, most likely be used from a similar lock which is in production or available as castings. PM me and I will send you some pictures of silicone molds.
