The earlier John that settled Bull's Gap then worked primarily in Kentucky and used a small, neat script signature with full first and last names... or the later John Valentine Bull of Bull's Gap and then Warrior's Mountain in Alabama? John Valentine Bull used a silver barrel plate with large, neatly engraved print-style letters, "John Bull," usually followed by the customer's name. Jerry Noble illustrated a couple of John V.
