The split stock was glued with Titebond II, and finished it today. Shot it twice, no issues.

brass butt cap, nose cap and ram rod pipes from TOW, trigger also.
forged my own steel trigger guard
all steel browned with Birchwood Casey plum brown (barrel, trigger, trigger guard)
stock stained with Potassium Permanganate solution then two coats of Danish oil. Straight oil on the cherry would have looked good, but the stain made it darker so the glued split, and my inlay errors, not as obvious.
Neighbor now found a 10" .50 cal barrel, 1 and 1/8 across the flats, 8 flats and grooves in the rifling. Seems to have been cut off a longer barrel, is not drilled and tapped yet for breach plug. Probably a project for next winter.
