Sort of a "look what I can do", goes along with long over the comb, lollipop tangs.  Builder showing off his talents.

Thanks for all the comments and thoughts.  Not to mention the photo of the sight with 3 bases!  I missed reading the original post and seeing that photo. I can say it will not be me that does one with 4 bases. 

I've only done one before. Working on my second one now.  Actually my 3rd since the shop gremlins snuck in and took #2.   >:(

My second double base sight is finished other than some clean up.  What a pain.  >:(    I don't believe it adds stability.  Got to be for looks.

Ken, it might add stability, but to who? haha. Looks good bro. I got to get pics of my 2base and the 3 base Chestnut rifle I just finished. You know how them Roun tuits is!
