Hi Terry.....nice going for a first attempt....Think it might be too narrow and too short? Before actually making the lid, I draw one on tracing paper and lay it on the buttstock ......to see if it's the right size.
A BC side opener should cover a good portion of the buutstock. There were always 4 knuckles on the lid....and the knuckle closest tp the Pbox "nose" is always on the lid...as is the knuckle next to the Bplate. You can make it as you like, but considering the above remarks, the BC Pboxes shown worked out well. Also. the lid shape varied somewhat ....mainly the side angles and length of the "nose". But there were still always 4 knuckles on the lid. Saw one side opener w/ sideplates, so here's my version.....Fred

Regardless of size, that looks pretty nice and great job! I have been getting an itch myself to make a patchbox from scratch
