Thanks again for all of the good words everyone, and you are right on both counts Tim. The welt strip is pinked first with a button chisel, then sewn into the inside out bag, then its turned. The flap just has a pinked edge. Its two piece bag, the flap and back panel being one piece and the front panel the other. The pinking on the flap stops where it folds. The pinked welt begins there making it look sort of continuous. The spacing on the pinking is all laid out with dividers then cut with the button chisel and cutting board.
The original this bag is based on was sold by Morphys Auctions fairly recently as part of the Bill Meyers collection. On that set the bag, accoutrements and horn are all said to be made by the Tansels too. However I based the horn on my set on a totally different Tansel piece. I love the completely backwards "Epluribus" because brings quite a few questions to mind as does the inscribed poem.
