Lead times?
« on: July 08, 2022, 05:59:58 PM »
New guy here and just ordered a Kibbler's colonial rifle on the 4th of July and was wondering how long does it usually take to be shipped.  I'm in no hurry just curious?  I'll be on here for tips and tricks on finishing the wood.  Still haven't decided on carving or not but I have some rubbings that my grandpa did back in the day from when he was checkering firearms for people that I may attempt to copy.  I won't be checkering but the rest, maybe.

Danthman14,  Welcome to the website and congratulations on the purchase.   Your best bet is to check with Kibler on the wait time.

I think it's close to 15 years now.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I’ve been waiting longer than that for a brass barrel gun from Mike Brooks. Been so patient that folks around here call me Job!

The Kibler site says about 12 weeks. The time will go by pretty fast and it will be worth the wait. Considering the availability of most of the parts we use, I think 12 weeks is actually pretty good.
The difficult we do at once, the impossible takes a little longer.

I guess I missed the 12 weeks in bold writing.  Haha.  Thanks for the replies.  Mike Brooks, you're a funny guy, I actually laughed seeing 15 years...

I received an email from Lori today saying my SMR kit had shipped. A little less than 8 weeks. A fine Friday!

18 year wait for the Hawken.  A bit shorter if you order a pine stock.
