How far south might you have found a F&I horn pre-revolution? How far north might a Southern Banded horn have been found? I imagine horns and accoutrements of all styles made it to places far away from their origins. Couldn't coveted items have been transported/traded to far-off places?

Prior to the Civil War, the main migration paths were from the north to the south for cheaper land. Then from the south to the west. So I'd say a northern horn would be more likely in NC or Arkansas than a NC horn in PA.

That's interesting I hadn't thought of that. Makes sense.

Kinds of depends on what your defining as "North". Many banded horns have been found in W. Va., Oh, and In.
