Snaphaunce accouterments recommendations.
« on: July 08, 2022, 07:24:48 AM »
I recently purchased The Rifle Shoppe's English snaphaunce musket featured in this thread:

And would like to start acquiring accouterments to go along with it. I unfortunately know very little about the era or what would be appropriate. I believe it reasonable that something similar could have been carried by an English colonist on the North American continent in the late 16th century? If so I would like to keep the accouterments within that time and place. Would apostles along with a bag of some sort be correct? What other sort of items should I be on the lookout for? And who would you recommend I contact that can make these sorts of early items? Thank you for your help.

Please don't be too humble to refer yourself if you make these sorts of things.

Turns out Dave Rase made me a bandolier of apostles some time ago and one of his friends is going to add a shot pouch to it. What luck! I'll post pictures after I pick it up at the CLA. Still looking for a wideawake hat it you have any leads.
