This is a pretty fine rifle from the hand of George Kopp, a member of the abundantly talented
family of gunmakers originating in Maryland. The organization of the basic elements of this rifle is very pleasing. It appears to have the slimness of a Bedford rifle and all of the work is of the highest quality. The ornamentation is somewhat minimal but is tastefully applied. In my opinion, a really great gun, worthy of a place of honor up on the Library wall.

Nice George Kopp rifle, with typical patchbox. The gun appears to be in original finish, and generally good condition. Both the patchbox shape and the engraved "shoosh" or loop on the side plate are characteristics of this maker's work.
