Simple patch knife
« on: July 19, 2022, 05:31:01 PM »
Having finished my SMR I wanted a matching patch knife.
With no possibility ( and probably no ability) of forging my own blade I decided to by a suitable blade from an supplier for medieval items.
I shaped the blade and fitted it to a nicely figured handle I made from curly maple. The simple sheath is made from a scrape piece of leather I had laying around.
This is the result:

The handle matches the SMR very closely, great job. The finish on the leather works well, too. I can never get my stitching to be so even, good job!

Two more knives and one sheath finished.
One with maple and the other with walnut handle.

How well they compliment each other. Bag and priming horn?
