Nicholas Hawk build, swivel gun
« on: March 27, 2023, 10:15:49 PM »
Recently I was fortunate enough to pick up a R. Paris kit for a swivel gun.  Kit had been sitting in a shop 40+years.  So had a little light rusting in a few spots but nothing too bad.  All screws were there and all I needed except for a butt plate and sights however, that’s not a problem.  My only dilemma is I have two small leaf springs and have no idea as to where they go.  Anyone knowledgeable about this?

Been looking at several N Hawk guns online and they are fascinating especially how the release works.  It’s really going to test my engraving skills for sure. (It has two rifled .50 barrels.)

Here’s what I have so far:

If you're going to do a Hawk, you need to have the trigger guard slide back to unlock the barrels, to swivel. Looks like this set might well have that feature?
I have a set of pictures of off my Hawk swivel taken down into pieces, showing all the works. To many pictures to post here, but I could email them to you if you'd like to see what the original looked like?
