Shelf Life of Permalyn Sealer

Does anybody know the shelf life of unopened Permalyn Sealer? I recently ordered some from Midway USA and when opened after shaking, it has a mostly clear color when poured into a paper cup instead of the amber color I was expecting. I was thinking I may have gotten a bad batch.

If it hasn't turned to thick putty, it hasn't "spoiled" yet. Just a guess.

I got Permalyn sealer that is around 5 years old and it looks amber in color to me. Still works.

I went down to ACE hardware and picked up some shiny new empty paint cans, small of course.  Their lid fits the way a paint can does.  I put my Permalyn in one, and my tacky glue for leatherwork in the other.  Up to now I have not been able to keep either of them open but this solution, for about $6 each, seems tp be working well.  Permalyn is such a pain in the keester to open and close and re-open in the little can it comes in that this seems to be the final storage container I will use

I use Bloxygen to keep drying oils and varnishes fresh, works well.

I buy a bag of marbles and bring the unused amount up to the neck of the can. It works for Water-lox original Tung oil maybe for Permalyn also.

After opening any finish, store it upside down when you are done.
