Jerry Lape's comment on night hunting with an ugly rifle prompted this.Going again to BPCR at Ralph Marcums,I made a representation of a rifle owned by Scott Sibley that was on the cover of a magazine and told him I was hauling him into court for showing that rifle to the public because I then had to copy it which I did.I think the gun was a Dimick or maybe a Gemmer RB styled like a muzzle loader and I wish I had kept it.It was a 40-90 and could outperform any 45-70.Scott told me his old one had be ruined by some bonehaad that reamed the chamber with a twist drill.Moderators, zap this if it's too far off the trail.

Loks like you were copying an original night rifle.  One that would only be used to poach ugly deer at night when no one else would see it.
Are you saying that this rifle is ugly?

Stoner,  I like the rifle and the use of copper.  I look forward to seeing it at Knoxville.

I like the rifle and I like it because it is different and it is hard to make that decision to go and make something different that goes against what is considered to be the norm. Normal is boring and predictable, that's why a McDonald's happy meal can never be equated to fine dining. Thanks for not being normal

Not only that, but to hit "different" in a good way, and still retain the flow and overall balance without going overboard, makes this one particularly nice to look at. It's both folksy and warm, yet "efficient" in it's overall appearance.

I've tried my hand at "different" on some stuff (not rifles) and I arrived closer to cluttered and disjointed. To balance all the factors and end up with a pleasing result takes a definite eye.

Hope you paid them well, Wayne!  Moonshine or the makings, at least.

Got to see this rifle in person at the recent Knoxville show. I really liked it! Many thanks to Austin who sent it along with Wayne for all to see!

I think those 3 rednecks did pretty good for a bunch of hillbillies. There is some talent deep in them hollers. Only thing I see as a problem is they put the lock on the wrong side.
