New Pouch and Horn
« on: March 24, 2023, 06:18:50 PM »
I finished a pouch and horn for the new Southern Mountain Rifle. Made from my own brain tanned buckskin, the pouch measures 6 1/2 wide by 7 1/2 deep and is lined with canvas that I dyed with black walnuts. It has two small pockets sewn to the inside back. The horn is from an old rough cow horn I had laying around and holds about 3/4 of a pound of powder.

Thanks Duane and Doug for the comments! I really need to find time to dig some deer skins out of the freezer and make some more buckskin. Not enough time in the years anymore to do everything!

Yes Fiddler, that homespun mountaineer look is what I was trying to achieve. Just haven't aged mine like you did hours. Nice outfit!

Super job, TurkeyCreek!

That's my favorite kind of pouch.  You did a very neat job on stitching and lacing, and it's pretty cool that you tanned the leather yourself, too.

Love it!
