Shouldn't you have done 2 so you would have a "Matching pair/pear".

You did a great job on the carving Andy.  I know the carvings on the cheek piece appear to be simple, but that makes them more difficult.
The curl in the wood makes it special. Hope I get to see it.

Beautiful wood.  I've appearently never seen a rifle stocked in pear.  The wood looks much nicer than I would have thought.

If you are ever in Paris, tour the Invalides, which is the French war museum at the tomb of Napoleon.

Lots of history, and lots of the early wheel locks and match locks and flintlocks are made from pear.

They didn't stain them, but left them light.  Of course, these were "show" guns.  I doubt if most of them had been fired.

Carving and engraving that would boggle your mind.

Not the ones I saw in the museum, and they were 300-400 years old.

Ken, as far as I know…. No.
I guess only time will tell.
In process, there was no real change between sanding, scraping, so we hope it will stay as is.

Just lovely! You did a wonderful job on the carving and kept it to minimum which just right for the lines of this rifle. I want one!
Great job!

Cool muzzle treatment.  Don Getz would have liked that one, I am sure.
