Lyman Belt Bag Period?

Hello, friends!

I recently acquired a Northwest trade gun that I believe is more of an early 19th century design.

I’ve got a Lemuel Lyman style belt pouch that I’d like to use for carrying balls and etc. for the gun. But I know this design dates back to the French & Indian War period.

My question is, were such belt pouches used later on in to the 19th century? Or would a different bag be more appropriate? Thanks so much in advance.

A Northwest gun would primarily be used by Native Americans and to some extent by Whites on the frontier. Their bags would vary depending on their heritage. The paintings of Alfred Jacob Miller would be something to look at so far as fur trade trappers are concerned.
