Powder Storage Horns?

A fellow asked me if I was familiar with what he called “Storage Horns”. He said he heard they were used to contain larger volumes of gunpowder at the home while smaller horns were carried in the field.
I replied that I certainly am not an authority on the subject and that I have not seen any evidence or surviving examples of these large things. I mentioned that, as a household item, one would imagine surviving examples would be known of (and, possibly be nicely decorated with FolkArt or finer embellishments).
Are there actual, definitive examples of these large  “Storage Horns”?

 Chapter 8 of Tom Grinslade's Powder Horns Documents of History has Pix of two, one 22" and the other 27. There is a writeup on them, in it he mentions that "they rarely have carving on them" but I wouldn't let that hold back on carving one.

I’ve seen large horns, not thinned, with no provision to hold a strap to carry, with a threaded hole and wooden threaded stopper in the butt plug. I think those are easy to classify as storage horns. Others, maybe multi-purpose.

I thought the whopper-sized horn I posted some months ago was a storage horn... too big to be carried as a hunting horn with bag and rifle.

I read somewhere many years ago that the British shipped cow horns full of powder to their troops in the colonies.  It never mentioned size.

There are also large horns called grease horns. They were hung on the outside of wagons to hold grease for the wheels.

I thought the military carried storage horns on wagons.

Here are a few photos without the insidious 'Photobucket watermark' of the horn that Tim Crosby referenced earlier in this thread.  I think referring to these large horns, without any obvious devices and/or modifications to the body of the horn, or the plug, allowing someone the means to carry them, as a storage horn, is an apt description of their intended purpose.
