I had to put this in perspective, and it is amazing what kind of accuracy can be achieved with a patched round ball with a muzzleloader.
So I went to the NMLRA website to look at National records.
Not the easiest endeavor to do. They have records for the Spring and Fall shoots as separate records for the same matches.
There are quite a few perfect scores of the bench.
Al Kramer used to come down to Phoenix with his wife to shoot the Winter Nationals. He used to shoot the local matches with us while he wintered here.
A fine gentleman. Sadly he passed away in 2020 at the age of 81.
In 2007 he set a record for match159. It is shot on a six bull 100 yard target at 100 yards. There are 6 bulls, with one being a sighter. The black is 6 inches in diameter, and the x ring is 1 inch in diameter.
AL shot a 50 5X on that target.
