Jack Duprey 45
« on: July 30, 2023, 04:36:28 AM »
Had time this morning to try out my new to me Jack Duprey. Shot till I ran out of balls this morning.  Supposable its the first Soddy that he built in 45 caliber. Anyway this handy little jewel shoots in the direction you point it when you pull the trigger. It's really nice.
Color me happy. Good times.

Thanks for posting Kevin!

Can you tell us more about the rifle  like how long the barrel is and if it's swamped etc.

A little write up on the rifle that came with it, Mr. Duprey presenting the rifle to the orginal owner, and Jacks name under the sideplate.
Not swamped, but, holds really well, nice and light, but, steady. Good offhand shooter, not picky with loads, anything from 35 to 70 grains 3f swiss, .20 or .18 patch and .440 balls all tight, tight groups. Didn't try it off the bench, that seemed sacrilegious, this sweet pea is made to shoot offhand.

I awalys  enjoyed visiting with Jack! He builds such of an exacting replica of an original Soddy Daisy
They’re absolutely spot on ! He’s a heck of a nice guy! Hope someday to own one!
