I like to glass -bed the tang on t/c stocks
I see from a factory production stock there is a lot of gap between the rear of the hook breech and the wood
The newer hawkens have the front tang screw that goes threw the tang and into the trigger guard .
I find the older stocks like the renegade the only thing that holds the tang to the stock are 2 wood screws.I add enough epoxy to fill the gap behind the face of the breech plug and the top part were it has the 2 wood screws.I Would say it would take a lot to split the stock with glass added instead of just leaving it the way it comes from the factory.I also did notice on some t/c stock from the factory they use some type of filler to seat the tang.
i like to here some reviews on glass bedding the tang??
I also remove about .020 from the rear tang were the back meets the woods
