Many of you have seen this gun as Dennis has posted photos of it on here before, but there is a nice set of photos of an early looking Matthew Gillespie rifle on the Contemporary Makers blog spot today.
The guard is striking - it is iron yet the forgework so perfectly executed you can't see obvious brazes or welds, and it is really nicely finished. I really love seeing these pieces that aren't in any of the books.
