American Gunsmiths - Frank Sellers

Not sure if this should go here or not.  But since this book deals with antique gun collecting, I thought that I would post it here.  I just saw that Frank Sellers book, AMERICAN GUNSMITHS is available in paperback through Amazon.com as a re-print.  If you collect antique rifles, this is a great reference book to have.  The hard copies have been out of print for quite a while and when you can find one, they list for $200+.  The paperbacks are listed for less than $25.00.   Thought that I would put it out there in case anyone was looking for one of these books.

I think Sellers has a new updated edition of American Gunsmiths.

Frank passed away a few years ago and his collection was auctioned off at RIA last year, or earlier this year. Don't know if his family plans a new edition, or not. It has been worded about that someone is preparing an updated version with a lot of new material. Hope that this is the case as it is frustrating to find a signed gun and no maker record.
Sounds like the original editions have become pricey.

Mr. Sellers died about 6 months ago. The new edition of his book was in the works before that and includes all of his handwritten additions and corrections. Its a very good deal.
