I'm always amused by Track's decriptions. It's sterling or coin silver not nickel silver. which doen't tarnish like that.
This begs an interesting story. The guy that bought this rifle had been at my table for years at Dixons. I took him as a looker. At this time, I was making what I wanted to, more than orders. I had this rifle and a bit plainer one and he couldn't decide so I said he could have both for $11,000. I was shocked. He said OK. He gave me $200 to hold them and said he'd be back. There I was late Sun. Even Dunlop was loaded up and ready to go. He comes back with the money in hundreds in a paper bag.
I knew he was a shooter and he bought a third rifle that I had made for my best shooting buddy in '83 that was for sale in the Dixon shop. Into Harleys now. He picked off a stick between the legs of a full sized buffalo slluette at a match in '85 offhand at 100 yds. to win a 100% finish tie breaker. A pretty well known rifle locally.
