Does anyone recognize these initials on a nice rifle? Couldn't help it. Gunbroker got me again.

Carving style looks familiar. Can't place it. I can hardly remember my OWN name anymore.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

A few more pics. It had a standard Siler hammer on a deluxe plate. I robbed a deluxe cock out of my lock stash. Shoots great with a Getz barrel.

Beautiful. I was watching that one, too. I think you did quite well.

It needed some work besides the new cock. Some dummy tried to use finishing nails for two of the barrel pins. He missed the 1/16" holed lugs and made the holes in the wood oversized. Didn't even cut the heads off the nails. Just left them sticking out. I fixed the pins and melted beeswax in the stock holes to fill them and help retain the new pins. One of the silver inlays on the patchbox surround was loose. Glued it back in. The frizzen is gouged in the middle from using too small a flint, but it seems to work OK. Shoots great. The first three shots off the bench at 50 were a cloverleaf dead center on the aiming point. 10min. with the Never-dull and the metal cleaned right up. Not bad for the about the cost of a Kibler Colonial kit and an afternoon of tinkering in the shop.

I bid and won the other one, just got time to unbox it this evening. Been busy planting corn down here is South Texas. Every thing seems to be in good order, now to clean it up and shoot it.
I think we both got the deal of the year on these.

Nice rifle. I didn't know there were two. Was it posted later? Now if we only knew who the mysterious "SRB" is.

They where offered at the same time. Bid once on both of them and walked away. Never thought that I would win one.

Kevin, I watched that one, too. Was sorely tempted to bid on one of them. I think you both did quite well.

Can we rule out Steve Bookout? Just a WAG.
Brice hope all is well with you and yours. Sure do miss seeing you. Drop me a note sometime and let me know what's going on in LA.
