I was sent this terrible picture this evening by a good friend who was offered this rifle a few days ago. Mike knows just about everything about Franklin automobiles and very little about old guns and, unfortunately, my knowledge of long rifles is pretty thin. If he gets it I'll post some good pictures but I thought, since at least the patchbox shows, that it might be distinctive enough to get a general idea where it was made. It's impossible to tell for certain from this picture but it also looks as if it is converted...I think I see a hole where the frizzen spring should be. The stock is tiger-striped maple.
