WHICH LOCK

 i'm planning on a Bucks County rifle and i have a problem. which lock should i use, a small or a large Siler, and also how much wood should i have from the bottom of the r/r channel and the bottom of the forearm? with all my measures i have about an 1/8", i'm a little afraid i'm in trouble.

Draw it out with the intended barrel size and ramrod.....there is your answer!

Large siler. 1/8" is fine if you pay attention.

  i got a Rice barrel thars just shy of 1" at the breech

The amount of wood shown below the ramrod hole in the above schematic is pretty generous.  Things often work out better if this is less.

  i plan on using a small Siler, it seems to fit be better large looks a little big

When I built my A. Verner copy, I used a Getz .50 cal. X 48" long barrel that is 1" at the breech.  In keeping with the original I was emulating, I used a hooked breech plug with a standing breech tang.  I used a large Siler percussion plate and made it into a flintlock using TOW's cock, pan, and frizzen spring which have lots of steel for filing to correct shape.  The large Siler is not too big for this rifle...pictures of original rifle and my copy included here.
