New Powder Measure
« on: December 30, 2009, 05:11:33 PM »
I just recently retro fitted a new .54 Rice barrel into my old gun. Thought I'd make a new antler powder measure for it. This one is 80 gr of FFg.

I like everything about it.  Simply stunning.  Eye candy for sure.  The spiral flutes are a real attention getter.

That is outstanding work!!   Wick, have you come up with an easy way to hollow out the antlers.... Using an electric drill seems to work, but...... did you find a particular type bit that helps??

I got the hole well started with a wood bit, 7/16", then finished it with a standard metal bit.

Very handsome LRB.  Some of these smaller accoutrements can really set off a pouch/horn set.  This is one of those.
